Our grandson is now a big brother to his “baby sister.” It was amazing to see how he reacted just after she was born.  He was so careful when touching her hair.  They are going to have a fun life together.  He is going to be a great big brother.

First Night

We just got a call from the hospital.  Dad and son have been sent home and mom is left to relax.  It looks like tomorrow is the “big” day.  It is now between God and our granddaughter when she is going to make her appearance.

Checking in

Our daughter and son in-law are now checking into the hospital.  It is almost time for our grandaughter to come into this world of ours.  We are looking forward to meeting her and holding this new life in our hands for the first time.

There’s is a Reason

I was sent this poem on a Valentine day’s card that was dated February 14, 1947.

For every pain that we must bear,
for every burden every care,
there’s a reason.

For every grief that bows the head,
for every teardrop that is shed,
there’s a reason.

For every hurt, every plight,
for every lonely, pained racked night,
there’s a reason.

But if we trust God as we should,
all must work out for our good,
He knows the reason.

After 59 years it is a amazing that I still have this card from my aunts, and what a comforting thought they shared.

A new soul, almost

I got a call this morning.  Our daughter is going into the hospital Thursday evening.  It is for a good reason.  She is to give birthday to our second granddaughter and her name is Marion.  My wife and I teach a baptism class and in it, we talk to the parents about their great excitment and share will them our’s.  We let them know after all of our years together we did not know that we could fall in love again, but we did with our grandson and now God has blessed us with a granddaughter.  More news to come…

Galco’s Soda Pop Shop

If you are ever looking for a soda pop that no one has visit Galco’s Soda Pop Stop, 5702 York Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90042.  This place is really cool!  Soda’s from around the world and a number of brands I have not seen in years.  They must well known.  My sister who lives on the other side of the US told me about it after reading about it in the New York Times.

Christmas Eve…

Things are settling down. We just finished our turkey dinner and just realized that we forgot about our annual Christmas Eve seven fishes dinner.  Oh well, there is always next year…  The weather man says that tomorrow it going to be about 77 degrees.  I guess that makes it tough for Santa trying to land his slay.  I see the weather back east where my sister lives it is going to be rainy and in the 40s.  I guess there are some advantages living in southern California.

Our family wishes you all a very Merry Christmas, and hope for you a blessed New Year.
